However, the Zebras swiftly retaliated, equalizing just two minutes later through Lemogang Maswena’s determined effort. As the game reached its conclusion, Tino Benza had an opportunity to secure victory for the visitors, but the Zimbabwean keeper made a remarkable save.

With the score tied, the match was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout, where Zimbabwe fell short, succumbing to a 4-3 defeat. Although Zimbabwe was unable to claim victory, the match provided an exhilarating spectacle in honor of Botswana’s Independence Day celebration.
