Concerns Over Sikhala’s Health Condition
CCC leader expressed deep concern over Wiwa’s deteriorating health while being held in Chikurubi Maximum Prison. He highlighted the seriousness of the situation, particularly the presence of blood in Wiwa’s stools, which requires urgent and expert medical attention currently denied to him.

“I am deeply concerned about the fact that Hon Job Sikhala is seriously ill in Chikurubi Maximum Prison,” stated Nero. In particular the fact that he has blood in his stools is a very serious condition which requires urgent and expert medical attention which is denied to him at present.”
Denial of Bail and Fair Trial

Chamisa emphasized that Wiwa is a well respected politician and respected lawyer, that denying him bail since June last year is not fair. He underscored the injustice of Sikhala’s prolonged detention despite not being a convicted criminal.
“This would be bad enough if he was a convicted criminal,” stated Advocate. “But he is an opposition politician and respected lawyer who has been denied bail and a fair trial since June last year.”

A Call for International Support
Advocate drew parallels to the international outcry against the unjust treatment of iconic figure Nelson Mandela during his imprisonment under the apartheid regime. He urged the international community to respond urgently to Wiwa’s situation and rally for his release.
