FORMER Zimbabwe ambassador to Geneva Chitsaka Chipaziwa will replace the retired long-serving chief of protocol in the president’s office, Munyaradzi Kajese, the Zim Morning Post has learnt.
Contrary to reports that Kajese resigned from his post, government sources said the long serving chief of protocol retired on account of reaching 65 years.
“Kajese’s resignation is said to be part of an ongoing government restructuring exercise that is expected to bring in new faces in key portfolios,” a source said.
Kajese has served for 30 years in the president’s office, since the days of the late former president Robert Mugabe.
When president Emmerson Mnangagwa came into power it was believed that Kajese, chief secretary in the president’s office and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda and other other senior officials who had served under Mugabe’s regime would be retired.
Kajese however, continued serving as the chief of protocol up until now.
