Gweru Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Sodomizing 12-Year-Old Girl in Her Bedroom

A 21-year-old man from Gweru has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for molesting and sodomizing a 12-year-old girl in her own bedroom. The incident, which occurred between May 1st and 24th.

Horrific Details of the Assault

According to court records, the young man, aware that the girl was home alone, broke into the house and sneaked into her bedroom. He then undressed the girl and lay beside her, covering her mouth with a cloth before molesting her. The man is also alleged to have had anal intercourse with the child.

12-Year-Old Girl Threatened, But Brave Friend Steps In

After the heinous act, the young man threatened to harm the girl if she disclosed the incident to anyone. However, on May 25th, the brave girl confided in a friend at school, who then informed their teacher. The teacher promptly accompanied the girl to the nearest police station, leading to the arrest of the perpetrator.

Harsh Sentence Handed Down

In a strong message to would-be offenders, the Gweru Magistrate sentenced the 21-year-old man to 15 years behind bars. “A 21-year-old man was convicted and sentenced by a Gweru magistrate on rape charges. The accused person was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment,” read the statement from the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe.

Man Assaults Mother in Front of Toddler

In other news, another Gweru man has been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in jail for molesting a mother in front of her toddler. The 42-year-old is said to have sneaked into the bedroom of the mother. He found the toddler’s mother lying naked next to her baby. He then removed his pants before molesting her. Upon the husband’s return, the woman then revealed the incident, leading to the man’s arrest.
