Power-Hungry Couple Exposed in Brazen Land Grab Scam at Crowhill Farm

Power-Hungry Couple Exposed in Brazen Land Grab Scam at Crowhill Farm

Power-Hungry couple, Florence and Felix Pambukani, have been fleecing desperate home seekers at Crowhill Farm in Harare and have since been exposed. The property is owned by Crowhill Private Limited, but the couple has been misrepresenting themselves as the legal owners of the land.

Defiance of High Court Order

Despite a 2021 High Court order prohibiting the Pambukanis from selling the land, they are allegedly continuing to defraud home seekers. The land in question is the 121.4029-hectare Chirika Extension of Borrowdale Estate, which is held under a deed of transfer.

“I know the Pambukanis after they were convicted for fraud after defrauding Lonrho Zimbabwe and served eight years each in prison. After they were released from prison, they came here at Acorn Farm desperately seeking a stand, and we assisted them,” said a legal occupant of Crowhill Farm.

The Pambukanis are accused of a history of evicting farmers from their land. Last year, they allegedly hired thugs with machetes to attack workers at Wakefield Farm in Selous Area 5, a farm they had illegally tried to seize.

“The takeover of Wakefield Farm by the Pambukanis also resulted in the eviction of 35 families, including children and the elderly,” Bartholomew said.

In 2008, the Pambukanis illegally took over Scotsdale Farm, leading to the death of its rightful owner, Kobus Joubert, in 2010. After the eviction of Joubert, the couple also evicted all the farm workers who are now homeless after working there for years.

Alleged Connections to Senior Officials

The couple is accused of name-dropping, claiming connections to senior officials as a history of evicting farmers from their land. Efforts to get their comment were fruitless as their phones were unreachable until publication. The victims of their fraud remain in a precarious situation, having lost substantial sums of money.

“The Pambukanis are not good people, they are stealing from the people. They don’t own land here,” the legal occupant of Crowhill Farm said.
