Family of Faith Community Development Trust partners Tel-One in environmental awareness drive
LOCAL non- governmental organisation, Family of Faith Community Development Trust (FOFCDT) has entered into a synergy with State owned telecommunications company Tel-One to champion environmental awareness.
The two entities on Friday toured Chitungwiza and embraced the National Clean Up day held every Friday of every month and donated fifty bins, after a clean up around the town.
They also took the opportunity to plant trees in line with National Tree Planting day held every first Saturday of December.
In attendance was Tel One management, FOFCDT leadership and the dormitory town’s mayor Lovemore Maiko.
Addressing residents, Maiko said cleanliness is next to Godliness, and as such it must begin at home.
“We must maintain high levels of cleanness starting at our households.
“We thank Tel One and FOFDT for their wonderful gesture, as council we also making an effort to uphold the values of a clean environment, “said Maiko.
FOFCDT director Reverend Johannes Paddington Zehama reiterated the call for clean environment and said St Mary’s does not belong to the municipality only, but combined efforts from the community and the corporate world.
“Regardless of who you are we must work hard to make our area clean and come up with innovative ideas to deal with the rubbish around our area,”said Zehama.

Reverend Zehama took advantage of the occasion to unveil a public health campaign on environment management , total health promotion , social transformation , spiritual empowerment , livelihoods home grown solutions, domestic violence, drug and substance abuse and gender based violence.
