Dr. Eng. Edzai Kachirekwa, CEO of Power Giants Private Limited Zimbabwe, was officially inducted into the National Hall of Fame at a ceremony held June 28, 2025, at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare,

The recognition highlights his legacy as one of Zimbabwe’s most impactful engineers, policy thinkers and humanitarian leaders, whose journey from humble beginnings to continental influence has inspired many.

Kachirekwa was the only guest speaker invited to address the event, speaking alongside Guest of Honour Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume. His emotional address drew a standing ovation as he called for unity, innovation, youth empowerment, clean energy and national pride.

“I dedicate this honor to every child in Shamva, every hustler in Kuwadzana, and every dreamer across Africa who refuses to give up,” he said.

Kachirekwa extended gratitude to the National Hall of Fame Committee for the recognition and the opportunity to speak at the event. He also thanked President Emmerson Mnangagwa for championing Vision 2030, First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for her community work, and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga for his role in national transformation.

He acknowledged the support of his wife, Mrs. Tinashe Evelyn Kachirekwa, his family, Prophets Emmanuel and Ruth Makandiwa, as well as the entire Power Giants team, stakeholders and clients.

“Without all of you, I am just a man with a dream. With you, I’m a man on a divine mission,” he said.

Kachirekwa’s contributions include constructing high-voltage lines from 11 kV to 765 kV, promoting Zimbabwe’s clean energy roadmap targeting 4,000 MW of sustainable power, and deploying community solar systems and microgrids to increase rural energy access. He has also supported youth-led enterprises and led humanitarian efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With over 25 national and international honors, including the Super Platinum Award from the Zimbabwe CEOs Network, his Hall of Fame induction adds to a career marked by service, innovation and leadership.
