Law firm holds breast cancer awareness, screening event for women

A Harare law firm organised breast cancer screening for its female staff as part of an initiative to promote early detection and raise awareness of the disease during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

R. Chibaya Law Chambers invited health professionals to conduct screenings, explain warning signs and encourage women to prioritise their health.

Participants also underwent screening, asked questions and received guidance on breast health and when to seek medical attention.

In a video shared after the event, organisers said the programme was intended to encourage women to prioritise their health despite the demands of their professional lives.

“It was more than just wearing colours or marking a day on the calendar,” the organisers said.

“It was about creating a space for women to talk, learn, support each other and encourage one another to prioritise our health.”

The organisers thanked the firm’s senior partner for facilitating the programme and the health professionals who provided education and screening services.

They said the initiative demonstrated the importance of creating opportunities for women to discuss health concerns openly and seek medical advice.

“Early detection matters. Knowledge matters and taking care of yourself matters,” the organisers said.
