Zimbabwe senior national team will lock horns with Congo Brazzaville on Sunday 24 February but the Umbro kit which the team is supposed to use has not yet arrived.
ZIFA President Felton Kamambo confirmed this on the sidelines of the first Warriors training ahead of the crucial clash on Sunday
“We have received the waybill confirming that our kit is on its way but we have a plan B,” said Kamambo
ZIFA signed a contract with Umbro early this year and the contract stipulates that Umbro has to provide training kit and the kit to use on match days, however if the warriors kit fails to arrive on time there will be no replica jerseys for fans.
“It is unfortunate that they will be no replica kit on this match,” said Kamambo.
Kamambo is confident that the warriors will win 3-1 against the team which broke hearts of many Zimbabwean in 1991.
Meanwhile all the players are now in camp including the doubtful captain Knowledge Musona and hard working Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba.
More than 10 000 tickets have been sold so far ahead of this clash and no tickets will be sold at the match venue.
Kamambo said that they are also in negotiations with the owners of Long Chen Plazza for some tickets to be sold there.
“We are negotiating with the owners of the Chinese complex close to the National Sports Stadium for tickets to be sold there.”
