The warriors who are set to take on the Red Devils of Congo on Sunday are yet to receive their kit from Umbro.
Sources close to Zim Morning Post confirmed that the Warriors kit is now in South Africa and is expected in the country today (Thursday) or Friday just few hours before the crucial match.
“The kit is in South Africa and it is expected to be in the country today (Thursday) or Friday, I am actually surprised on why people are panicking about the kit everything is in order,” said our source who is close to the Umbro and ZIFA deal.
ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela told Zim Morning Post Sports that the kit is expected today (Thursday).
“We received a way bill and we are expecting the kit later today,” said Gwesela.
On Wednesday ZIFA President Felton Kamambo confirmed that the kit is still to come and they have made other arrangements as plan B if the Umbro deal does not materialise.
“On our option B, all our kits are in here, two for the Under-23s and two for the national senior team.
“About the kits from Umbro, we have received the waybill for the kit but the kit is not yet here. So, as a board, we have made an alternative plan, which was our Plan B, that we activated.
“I am sorry on the replicas. Umbro could not meet their deadlines in order to supply the replicas. So, for this match, we won’t be having some replica jerseys,” said Kamambo.
Zimbabwe warriors will also receive clothing items from their official clothing partner 4 May today.
