“Mbuya Hunda muroyi vakomana”: Harare Woman Escalates Feud with Neighbor over Nonstop Insults and Devastating Property Damage!
A Harare woman, Mbuya Enia Hunda, has sought legal intervention against her neighbor, Sabina Hwasi, accusing her of persistent insults and damaging her property. The case unfolded at the Harare Civil Court, where Enia pleaded for relief from the ongoing harassment.
Accusations of Insults and Property Damage
Enia Hunda expressed her distress, stating that she could no longer tolerate the verbal abuse hurled at her by Sabina Hwasi. She claimed that Sabina had taken it upon herself to alienate her from other residents, forbidding them from interacting with her. Enia recounted a specific incident during a funeral procession in 2018 when Sabina allegedly sang derogatory remarks about her, causing other mourners to reprimand her.
“In 2018, her cousin passed away. On our way to the cemetery, she sang ‘Mbuya Hunda muroyi vakomana’ until other mourners reprimanded her. I don’t know what I did to her,” stated Enia.
Additionally, Enia accused Sabina of deliberately drilling holes in her precast wall, without any apparent justification.

Sabina asserted she never accused Enia of witchcraft or insulted her. She attributed the holes in Enia’s wall to wear and tear, offering evidence.
Peace Order Granted
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira assessed the testimonies and granted Enia Hunda a peace order, acknowledging the need for legal intervention to address the alleged harassment. The court instructed Sabina Hwasi to refrain from insulting Enia, interfering with her property, and drilling holes
