- Urges fellow citizens to complement government efforts to fight the disease
- blasts business-people with a tendency of using the epidemic as a cash cow
BUSINESSMAN and socialite Tazvi Mhaka popularly known as Chief J, has taken heed of President Mnangagwa’s call for citizens to get involved in the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19) through donating 20 000 pairs of latex examination gloves on Thursday.
Mhaka made the donation to the Ministry of Health and Child Care and handed over the gloves to the minister Obadiah Moyo.

He urged fellow citizens to complement government efforts to come up with a robust national COVID 19 preparedness and response plan.
“Today my love and spirits spoke with passion to me about the global epidemic that is commonly known as Coronavirus.
“I want that spirit to speak to each every one of my friends.
Our country, without doubt, faces challenges to fight this because our resources are so limited and we often lack in the most basic way.
Come to the front line and help the country to fight this.
“Today I sacrificed to donate to the country through the Minister of Health Dr Obadiah Moyo 20k latex examination gloves to be part and parcel of fighting an epidemic on our doorstep.
Look I say this because you my friends & I do it because I think we don’t really lack that much not to be part of a force on behalf of the country.
“The most wealthy countries are overwhelmed what about us,” wrote Mhaka on his official Facebook page.
He urged businesspeople to desist from using the epidemic as a cash cow and make profits through overpricing sanitizers, masks and medication.
Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa launched the National COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan at State House on Thursday.
