Buhera Man’s Horrific Act of Violence Results in Life Imprisonment for Aunt’s Murder

After committing a horrific act of violence, a man from Buhera has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his aunt.

Admire Kimbini, 25, committed the gruesome crime by hacking her with an axe and severing her head, following an undisclosed dispute.

The Trial and Verdict

Kimbini recently appeared before Mutare High Court Judge, Justice Isaac Muzenda, where he faced charges of murder. The court, represented by Principal Prosecutor Mr. Malvern Musarurwa, heard the chilling details of the case.

The Grisly Act

According to the court proceedings, Admire Kimbini viciously attacked his aunt, Ms. Merry Maingire, striking her thrice with an axe. The blows landed on her forehead, the right side of her head, and her chest. Tragically, Ms. Maingire died instantly as a result of these horrific injuries.

A Chilling Scene

The lifeless body of the victim was discovered lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Shockingly, her decapitated head was found on the fireplace, a haunting testament to the brutality of the crime.

Medical Examination and Cause of Death

The court was presented with the findings of Dr. Gutsire, who certified the victim’s death at the Murambinda Mission Hospital mortuary. Subsequently, Dr. Yoandry Olay Mayedo conducted a post-mortem examination at the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare. The examination revealed that the cause of death was severe head injuries, including damage to the brain.

Eyewitness Testimony

One of the witnesses, Ms. Sophia Mapani, who happened to be the victim’s mother-in-law, recounted the distressing events. A three-year-old juvenile informed Ms. Mapani that Admire Kimbini was attacking Ms. Maingire with an axe. Rushing to the scene, Ms. Mapani discovered the horrifying sight of her daughter-in-law lying in a pool of blood with her head placed on the fireplace, showing signs of slight burning.

Arrest and Recovery of Evidence

Following the report made by Ms. Mapani, the police swiftly apprehended Admire Kimbini. The murder weapon was also recovered as crucial evidence in the case.
