JW Oliver, co-founder and managing partner of ZimWorX, has been appointed chairperson of American Chamber (AmCham) Zimbabwe.
In a statement announcing his appointment, AmCham said, “he brings with him a wealth of experience in business and commerce, having previously started up more than 20 companies, including a dental imaging company, and an international property management group.”
AmCham said Oliver is assuming the role from Marc Holtzman who served as the Chamber’s Founding Chairman and “is well-positioned to lead the Chamber in its efforts to promote business growth and facilitate trade between Zimbabwe and the United States.”
“Holtzman expressed confidence in J.W.’s ability to take the Chamber to new heights. He also expressed gratitude to the Chamber’s members for their support during his tenure,” read part of the statement.
Apart from his professional achievements, Oliver is known for his philanthropic work, Amcham noted. “He is actively involved in various community development initiatives through “The 51” – in which 51% of the company’s profits go to global ministries.”
The organisation introduced him as “the managing partner for SupportDDS and ZimWorX, one of AmCham’s Founding Members.”
