Gibson Mandiuraya who is employed as a receiving supervisor and David Mutimbu who is the receiving clerk appeared before Harare magistrate Barbra Mateko and they were released on $100 bail.
The state led by Sebastian Mutizirwa alleges that on May 17 the two hatched a plan to steal from their employer.
The following day the Mandiuraya told Mutimbu that he was going to print invoices on the United States Dollar (USD) hardware which was being used by one Edwell Mataramvura a till operator without his knowledge.
In pursuance of their plan, they logged into the till using a password which they had secretly observed from the owner of the account before they went on to print four invoices of building material valued at USD $2 267.10 .
The two stamped the invoice with a Fawcett security stamp purporting that it had been signed by a Fawcett security officer as per the procedure.
On the same day, the two accused approached Makanjera Zisengwe who got interested in buying 150 bags of cement rated at RTGS $4 500.
Zisengwe later on paid RTGS$ 1800 to the two via Amon Mandiuraya’s Ecocash account and settled the balance in hard cash.
The two contacted another buyer Malvin Munyebvu and they sold 60 boxes of floors tiles at USD330.00.
The state heard that the offense was discovered at day end when the till operator had a short fall of USD 4 561 at his till and the management checked with the CCTV which revealed Mandiuraya at the till and the matter was reported to police leading to the arrest of the two.
The matter was remanded to June 20
