Miss Zim schools preps gather momentum….as corporate world jumps in

Preparations for the second edition of the Miss Zimbabwe Schools have reached saturation point and organisers revealed that all logistics are going according to script.

The grand finale is slated for June 1 at Holiday Inn in the capital.

Buoyed by the participation of the corporate world in support of empowering the girl child, the pageant is a potentially explosive event.

Four companies have partnered the organisers in a development that goes in a long way in  championing corporate services responsibility (CSR)

Addressing journalists at a Harare hotel on Wednesday morning, Zinzile Mantiba the founder of Simudziriranayi Community Organisation (the organisers) announced their latest partners.

“We have received tremendous support from the corporate world and we are pleased to have on board Vatumwa “Your Personal Assistant “ – a Zimbabwean company which assist individuals who are either too busy or out of the country with errands that need to be done whether its shopping, need someone to check your house being built properly Vatumwa will be at your service, we have ZLG which is a game-changer in  purified water bottled  water and Owami Beauty Hub – a beauty company  based in Zimbabwe and South Africa  and deals with make- up and different products.

“We also have Women in Health   a Zimbabwe company  which deals with women Health issues in the country,” said Mantiziba.

She said besides empowering  the girl child, the other inspiration behind the pageant is the zeal to complement government efforts to nurture talents for young people as embraced in the new curriculum.

“Our preoccupation is to  help the young women to display their  talents ,confidence building  and empowerment  and this is in line with supporting  the new curriculum   that children should identify  their  talents  and be groomed  and excel in them,” she said.

The organisers went around all provinces of Zimbabwe identifying the best to represent in the finals.

“We were impressed by the untapped talent that lyes in the rural areas and we need to give them exposure,” she said.

The organisers ,Simudziranayi Community Organization, was established in 2012 and works with the girl child and the less privileged in society.
