Karoi Teenagers Arrested for Molesting 15-Year-Old Mentally Challenged Girl

Two Karoi teenagers have been arrested and convicted for gang-molesting a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl behind their home.

Teens Molest Mentally Challenged Girl

The two perpetrators, aged 19 and 15, went to the girl’s house and started playing behind their kitchen. They then called the girl to join them. As they were playing, they ordered her to remove her clothes and lie down before taking turns to molest her.

Mother Interrupts Assault, Perpetrators Flee

The mother, who was in the kitchen, heard some commotion and went to investigate. She discovered one of the teenagers in the middle of the act, but the perpetrators quickly fled the scene upon her arrival.

Mother Reports Assault, Police Arrest Suspects

The mother then took her daughter inside and asked how she was lured into the act. She narrated everything and went to the police station to file a report. The police made an investigation that led to the arrest of the two teens.

Teens Sentenced for Heinous Crime

The teens appeared before the Karoi Magistrate’s Court facing rape charges. They were convicted and sentenced. “The accused persons were convicted, and the first accused person was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Passing of the sentence for the second accused person was suspended for 5 years. He was placed under the custody of a probation officer for 6 months,” read the NPAZ press statement.

Woman Demands Cultural Compensation for Alleged Gang Rape

In another story, a Bulawayo woman who alleged that she was gang-raped by four men while heavily intoxicated, reportedly refused a US$40 cash settlement offered by the alleged perpetrators. Instead, she demanded a goat as compensation.
