WATCH: ZRP Police Officer Caught on Camera Accepting Bribe from Kombi Operator

Watch, a ZRP police officer was caught in the middle of Harare’s CBD, accepting a bribe from an alleged kombi operator.

ZRP Officer Caught in Bribery Incident

The incident was captured at the corner of Chinhoi and Kwame Streets, a known illegal pick-up spot for commuter omnibuses. The police officer was seen taking money from the conductor, clearly to allow the illegal operation to continue.

Corruption Allegations Reach the Top

In another shocking development, Hosiah Abrahama Chisango, the Harare town clerk, and Artkins Mandaza, a principal contracts administrator, have appeared before the Harare Magistrate’s Court, facing criminal abuse of duty charges as public officers.

Top Officials Implicated in Shady Tender Allocation

According to court reports, Chisango and Mandaza played a pivotal role in awarding a tender to a company associated with Moses Mpofu, the majority shareholder of Jukula Enndo Joint Venture. Mpofu is currently in remand for an alleged goat scheme fraud.

Probe Uncovers More Wrongdoing

The ZACC investigation found that Jukula Enndo Joint Venture had been disqualified from the tender, as it did not meet the requirements. Additionally, they also found out that Chisango and Mandaza had previously awarded a biogas tender in Mbare to one of Mpofu’s companies in 2019, which did not deliver anything.

“Hosiah Abraham Chisango and Artkins Mandaza were arraigned before Harare Magistrates Courts facing criminal abuse of duty as public officers. The accused persons will appear in court for continuation of bail application,” read the NPAZ press statement.
