Gospel outfit set to light up Harare

HARARE gospel outfit, Spirit Praise Choir, is set to light up Zimbabwe’s capital when it hosts its brand launch on September 20 at 99 Parklane, opposite Harare Gardens. 

The red carpet event which kicks off 5:30pm to 7:30 pm will see Zimbabwe gospel music fans treated to a gospel party with the choir set to perform a wide array of their offerings at the event.
“We aim to be the most innovative, praise and worship concert that brings together the christian community and cerebrates the life of Jesus Christ through music dance and worship,” Learnmore Tawengwa, the choir director said.

We also endeavor to become an effective preacher of the word of God through music locally, regionally and globally,” he added.

Formed in 2013 Spirit Praise has two musical albums namely “Yatokwana Nguva” and “Vatatu Mumwechete.”

The band of 40 members has also released two DVDs beings “Worship Moments Series 1 and 2.”

The choir, Spirit Praise, is known for hosting different church choirs under one roof, through their annual event dubbed One Voice Concert.

Preparations for this year’s edition of One Voice Concert are at an advanced stage with the concert set to be held on 25 and 26 October in the Harare Gardens.

“The Harare Gardens event running under the theme “Gathering of Champions” will feature Martin PK from South Africa and Nigeria’s Osinachi Nwachukwu,” Spirit Praise Choir said in a statement, adding: 

“The two will share the stage with local musicians, the likes of Takesure Zamar Ncube and several church choirs from different denominations. Some of the expected church choirs include Heartfelt Worship Team, Covenant Praise, Africa Praise, TOG Praise Team, the United Family International church choir, Victory Praise Team, Assemblies Praise Team, Redeemed Praise Team, and Avondale Anglican Youth among others.”
