THE government has on Wednesday decided to make turns for civil servants to report for work due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

During a politburo meeting held at the Zanu Pf headquarters Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said government workers will take turns to come to work.

All attendees of the meeting practiced social distancing and sat further apart as recommended by the health experts.

They were given masks to wear and follow all the procedures used for the COVID-19 prevention.

Civil servants working in various institutions were still reporting to work normally excluding teachers who closed school on Tuesday.

In a survey conducted by Zim Morning Post on Wednesday, it was noted that it was business as usual at most government institutions since the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

Those who use government transport were seen in big number from their pick up points.

Civil servants who work in the various departments of the government are being transported by the public buses which are always overloaded due to the transport crisis among the civil servants.
