Award winning gospel musician Tatenda Mahachi ‘s latest single Victory has received rave reviews and fans have set up a ‘Victory challenge’ which has gained so much uptake including celebrities and social butterflies.
The ‘Victory Challenge’ is where fans compete against each other by posting videos of themselves mimicking Mahachi’s song.
To date, a lot of fans including celebrities have set social media ablaze with videos of the ‘Victory challenge’ where winners are expected to walk away with branded Tshirts and Cds.
Notable names include Le Harve FC and Warriors striker Tino Kadewere, who takes a video vibing to the track in his car from his base in France, top goalkeeper Elvin Chipezeze and Teenage Hadebe among others.
The mellow track was done in three languages as Mahachi pursues to spread the word of God across ethnic line.
Interestingly, Mahachi roped in the services of Military Touch Movement producer Rodney Beats but his touch was ‘Midas’ !
“The son is done in three languages, (of)
English, Shona and Swahili. It reminds Christians that all their battles were
won on the cross when Jesus
Christ was crucified. Since we are victors in Christ, there is no reason to
give up when we face difficulties,” said Mahachi.
The instrumentation on the single is well coordinated and Mahachi slightly divorced from his traditional signature beats.
He said he
wrote the song after praying and the realisation that many people lose hope in
the midst of challenges forgetting
Mahachi has done collaborations with
Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana, and the late Sifiso Ncwane and Olver
Mtukudzi.
