THE battle for meat has reached fever pitch as Harare party animals are divided as to which gig to attend as there has been a clash between the Delta Beverages organised Braai Fest and Braai out Zw.
The latter was organised by Tamba Events fronted by Nigel Chinovhiringa.
Hararians are spoilt for choice but there is every need to compare the two biggest festivals in the capital in matters to do with security and artistes line-up.
A snap survey carried out by this publication established that majority of party animals prefer the Braai Out Zw because of the family environment that engulfs the gif which is in its third edition.
Jah Prayzah is the major draw card as he is on- fire, trending with his latest song Sadza neMuriwo and he is also expected to give snippets of yet to be released songs
“ Wangu (My Guy) I will be at Kingfisher, the place will be burning, you know how Jah Prayzah usually light up the stage ,remember we also have Mukudzei Junior performing there so it is double trouble,” said Tinashe Chakadza of Highfield.
The Braai Fest will be held at Old Hararians but previous editions have been characterized by violence.
Bad precedence was set in the 2017 edition when Ngaibake hit maker Freeman had a torrid time playing with a live band after missiles were thrown on stage.
Revellers left the gig en masse and resorted to attend Tarrus Riley show at Harare International Conference Centre.
“In 2017, I attended Braai Fest and I failed to get the meat which I was supposed to get on entrance and there was violence therefore this time I will be at BraaiOut ZW and the place is also good to mingle and mix with family,” said Faith Tapiwa Chiroodza.
Crowd puller Winky D is the major attraction at the Delta Beverages organised gig.
“I will be at Braai Fest I want to watch the Gafa (Winky D) in action, the guy does not usually disappoint ,”said Golden Mupfupi- a staunch Winky D fan.
The best gig will win on Satirday as Harare will be on fire on this ‘meatful’ day.
