For many companies in Zimbabwe, the advent of COVID has heralded loss of business, but not for the BPO industry.
The outsourcing industry has continued on an upward trajectory as companies across the world warm up to the idea of remote offshore workers. An example of this is ZimWorX, which provides staff leasing services for international companies.
Company co-founder and managing partner, JW Oliver, however, has attributed the company’s growth to a good work ethic. “Interest in staff leasing has definitely grown during COVID,” he said.
“But our growth as a company is driven by hard work, great marketing and good client relations.” The company, which only had about 100 employees in 2019 now boasts a workforce of 500 staff leasees.
“This is a huge milestone for us,” Oliver said.
Oliver said he was planning to open staff leasing centers in more countries. “Zimbabwe will always be the place where we started from,” he said. “But our vision is global.”
