The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) is in a messy scandal which has seen employees drawing daggers against management for non-remittance of their funeral policy contributions for a period of eight years, Zim Morning Post has learnt.
According to our source, ZINWA management misrepresented to their employees that their contributions will be paid to Nyaradzo Funeral.
“For the past eight years money has been deducted from our salaries in the belief that HR (human resources) was paying the funeral cover fees to Nyaradzo (Funeral).
“We realized that for the past eight years the money was not being forwarded to Nyaradzo,” revealed an inside source.
Sources also said Zinwa management only disbursed funeral funds for the past four years instead of eight years.
“We want them (management) to tell us when they are going to disburse the remaining four years deductions because the organisation is no longer handling our group funeral cover.”
When contacted for comment on Tuesday, ZINWA spokesperson Tsungi Shoriwa said he was making consultations with the relevant personnel.
He, however, did not revert at the time of publication.
Recently, ZINWA was embroiled in a million dollar scandal after its board commercialization committee chairman issued desilting licences to 14 companies without board approval.
