HARARE – Zimbabwe showed their readiness for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier with a convincing win over Scotland in Harare on Thursday.
The hosts bowled out Scotland for a paltry 163, with Wellington Masakadza, Luke Jongwe and Sean Williams each taking two wickets. Only Matthew Cross and Brandon McMullen offered some resistance at the top of the order, while Jack Jarvis and Chris McBride added some late runs.
Zimbabwe had no trouble chasing down the target, reaching 166/4 in less than 25 overs. Sean Williams top-scored with 46 not out, while Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl chipped in with 30 and 28 respectively.
Zimbabwe will hope to carry this momentum into the tournament, which starts on Sunday, while Scotland will need to regroup quickly.
