Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commision (ZACC) has targeted the Zimbabwe Football Association ( ZIFA) amid reports of alleged kick backs received by a board member (name supplied) from the fired coach Zdrvacko Logarusic, Zim Morning Post has heard.
A source who spoke to Zim Morning post said that ZACC is eager to investigate the allegations being raised.
According to the source some board members were receiving a percentage from Loga everytime he got his dues from the football mother board.
“Investigations will start soon . ZACC is interested in the allegations, it has been alleged that one of the board members who was part of those who did not want Loga to be fired was receiving a kickback from the Coach,” revealed the source.
Contacted for a comment Zacc boss Loice Matanda Moyo said “I will check with officers because such a report is not yet with me. I will get back once I have all the details.”
ZIFA pulled the plug on the Warriors coach, Loga, after the Croat managed just one win in 14 matches.
ZIFA said the association and Logarusic had “amicably parted ways with senior men’s team coach” as pressure mounted for him to be axed.
“The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee,” said ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela.
“The entire technical team has also been disbanded. The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course as the Executive Committee has already set in motion the process,” he added.
