Zanu PF councillors, MPs ignorant on party policies: Central Committee report

ZANU PF Members of Parliament are not well informed about the party’s policies, leaving them unable to convince their followers on what the party intends doing going forward.

This was revealed in the Central Committee report contained in the just ended Zanu PF people’s conference in Goromonzi on Saturday.

The report stated that the party’s Mps and councillors were clueless on the economic austerity measures Zimbabwe is pursuing.

“Party representatives such as councillors and MPs do not have any clue on how to convince their constituencies on the prevailing economic situation,” the report stated.

The report comes at a time there has been wide dissatisfaction with government policies, which many believe are targeting the poor while those at the top continue to live lavish lifestyles.

Under the ongoing economic austerity measures, Zanu PF leaders have failed to walk the talk as they live lavish lifestyles while the poor languish in poverty.

Recently, Gokwe Nembudziya MP Justice Mayor Wadyajena reportedly imported a Lamborgini Urus for USD$400 000.

The report further stated that the party had dissociated itself from the masses, with the leadership just about the only ones informed on party policies.

“The national security department notes that there is a wide gap with regards information between the higher echelons of the party and lower party structures,” the report reads.

The grassroots is reportedly uninformed about  various issues and appears not to understand such programmes as economic austerity measures.

The party membership also reportedly lacks knowledge on reasons behind the incessant price hikes which have badly eroded their incomes, making various households fail to make ends meet,” read the report.
