UZ makes top appointments

The University of Zimbabwe has made senior appointments as the hunt for a new Vice Chancellor continues.

Professor Rosemary Moyana has been appointed Pro Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs for the University of Zimbabwe.

She was appointed on April 1 and will serve on that position for the next three years.

Previously Prof Rosemary Moyana has worked for the University of Zimbabwe as a lecturer in the Faculty of Education since 1988 and has been with the University of Zimbabwe since then.

Moyana’s appointment is very critical to the University as she will become number three from the Vice Chancellor.

Moyana has great interest and experience in Literature in English and is currently researching in Zimbabwe and Southern African Literature.

Insiders claim that Moyana’s recent promotion comes at a time the university is shopping for a new Vice Chancellor who will replace Professor Levi Nyagura who was suspended in 2018. Nyagura is facing charges of abuse of office after he illegally awarded former first lady Grace Mugabe a PHD.

The current acting Vice Chancellor is Professor Paul Mapfumo.
