HARARE – Zimbabwe’s tourism sector witnessed a remarkable surge in the first half of 2023, with tourist arrivals experiencing an impressive 50% surge, reaching a total of 529,078 visitors.
Consequently, the tourism receipts exhibited a substantial growth of 16%, amounting to a noteworthy US$343.1 million in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Remarkably, investments into Zimbabwe’s burgeoning tourism industry exhibited an astonishing leap of nearly 100%, recording an impressive sum of US$96.5 million during the first six months of this year.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has attributed this ongoing positive momentum within the sector to a combination of strategic marketing endeavors and successful investment initiatives.
