The late former President Robert Mugabe’s son-in-law, Simba Chikore, was Tuesday acquitted by a Harare magistrate Victoria Mashamba.
Chikore was facing allegations of unlawfully detaining a former Zimbabwe Airways employee, Bertha Zakeyo, during a dispute.
Prosecuting, Sebastian Mutizirwa alleged that Chikore, who was then Zimbabwe Airways boss, connived with Mutimbe, also employed by Zimbabwe Airways and allegedly detained Zakeyo for hours, thereby depriving her of her freedom.
It was alleged the pair barred her from leaving Zimbabwe Airways offices. Reasons for the detention were not given.
