Shadaya regrets rejecting Olinda Chapel’s offer

Social media personality and comedian Shadaya Knight has expressed his regret over declining a business offer from Olinda Chapel, a UK-based businesswoman and philanthropist. Shadaya, who is known for posting memes and jokes on Instagram, had previously turned down Olinda’s proposal to sponsor him any business of his choice.

Olinda, who is married to musician Tytan and runs a successful recruitment company in the health sector, had made the surprising offer to Shadaya live on Instagram in May 2023. She said: “Shadaya Tawona, I have a proposition for you. I want to sponsor you to start a business. I am serious. Inbox me your business proposal, and let’s talk.

However, Shadaya rejected the offer and accused Olinda of trying to use her money to control him. He wrote on Twitter: “The biggest problem with this woman is she has never been around a man; she has changed one boy toy to another. Pathetic men who have no self-respect, who worship her, gave up their balls for some trinkets. And now she thinks she can use her money to control every man, to be her loyal puppet. She gets her ego gassed up by bragging she takes care of men. It makes her wet humiliating these pathetic men under her sponsorship. But come on, sis, look very closely at your two dummies, then look at me. You’ll see the difference between a tamed zoo lion & a wild lion in the jungle. I’d rather eat from the bin than eat from your plate.”

Shadaya and Olinda have a history of online feuds and have exchanged insults and mockery several times. Shadaya has made fun of Olinda’s appearance, marriage and HIV status, while Olinda has clapped back at him with witty and savage responses.

However, it seems that Shadaya is now having second thoughts about his decision, as he posted on Facebook that he is feeling the pinch of inflation and wondering if Olinda’s offer is still available. He wrote: “Mari iya ichiripo here nekuti ma rate haana kumira mushe mu town nhasi”, which loosely translates to “Is the previous offer still available because the rate of inflation has left me speechless.”

His post attracted mixed reactions from his followers, with some sympathizing with him and others mocking him for his pride and arrogance. Some advised him to swallow his pride and apologize to Olinda, while others urged him to stick to his principles and hustle on his own.

Olinda has not yet responded to Shadaya’s post, but many are curious to see if she will accept his apology or ignore him. Some have praised her for being generous and forgiving, while others have warned her against trusting Shadaya.

This is not the first time that Olinda has offered to help young Zimbabweans with entrepreneurial skills. She runs the Olinda Chapel Foundation, which supports various causes such as education, health and women empowerment. She also owns a lipstick brand called Olinda Chapel Cosmetics and is involved in medical supplies.

Shadaya is one of the most popular socialites in Zimbabwe, with over 200k followers on Instagram.
