State-owned mobile telecoms company, NetOne’s board of directors, last week suspended the firm’s financial director Sibusiso Ndlovu as well as its chief operating officer Brian Mutandiro amid allegations of financial abuses emanating from the recent audit report, the Zimbabwe Morning Post has learnt.
Industry sources this week said the board met on January 30 and resolved to suspend the two senior executives pending investigations.
“The two were suspended at a special board meeting held last week,” the source said.
“They were suspended for 15 days and will soon be summoned to respond to the allegations against them.
“An internal investigation is underway,” said the source.
The two were part of the nine executives who were fired and later reinstated after board intervention in August 2018 .
When contacted for comment, the company’s group marketing and corporate communications executive Dr Eldrette Shereni could neither confirm nor deny the development citing that she has been not in office owing to illness .
“I am not appraised of that development ,I was off sick and I am not aware .I am actually hearing it from you. Please send your questions via email and i will respond after I consult ,” she said.
