MDC Alliance legislator Juliana Mamombe has on Tuesday described the recalling of the Nelson Chamisa-led legislators Charlton Hwende and Prosper Mutseyami and Thabita Khumalo as a ‘divide and rule’ tactic employed by the Thokozani Khupe led rival party.
Reinforcing her allegiance to her party leader Chamisa, Mamombe said she and fellow MDC-A parliamentarians were ready to be all recalled.
She registered her sentiments on her official micro blogging site Facebook page:
“Recall us all, not divide and rule,” Mamombe wrote.
Her outburst follows Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda’s announcement that Mutseyami, Khumalo and Hwende are no longer Members of Parliament after a recall by their party MDC-T.
Chamisa recently lost a legal battle for MDC Presidency against Khupe.
His ascensions to the helm of the party after Morgan Tsvangirai’s death was ruled unconstitutional.
This saw Morgen Komichi and Douglas Mwonzora assuming the positions of vice president and secretary general respectively awaiting a national Congress.
The latest recalling was viewed as a deliberate ploy to destabilise Chamisa’s acolytes by some circles.
