Manyame rural council to review levies

Manyame Rural district council has proposed an increase in fees, rates and levies in their supplementary budget for 2020 If approved, the changes will be effective from January 1 .

This is to augment the council’s social services projects which includes construction of schools, clinics and vending stalls.

The council has not set a figure of the upward review of the levies but invited residents to participate and come up with desirable figures.

““Any objections to fees ,rates, levies and charges should be lodged in writing with within 30 days from today.

“This notice is stipulated in terms of section 76 and subsection (2) as read with section 47 of the Public Finance management Act chapter 22:19 which gives room for local councils to review fees and levies if need be,” wrote the chief executive Farirai Guta.

This intended revision of fees and levies comes after the Harare city council has reviewed its own fees.

Manyame RDC covers part of Chitungwiza (Dema, Chikwanha, Guzha) and Beatrice.
