Manicaland to host first beer, braai festival

MUTARE – Meat and beer lovers in Manicaland are in for a treat for the first time ever on September 28 as they will partake in the highly popular Castle Lager Braai Fest at Villa Spot in Dangamvura
high density suburb.

The festival in Mutare is a build up to the main Castle Lager Beer and
Braai Fest to be held between October 25-26 at Old Harareans Sports

A huge attendance is anticipated at the popular drinking outlet –
Villa Spot. The centre has on several times played host to numerous national events, including
the popular Black Label male and female pool tournaments.

According to Delta Beverages, the Castle lager beer brand is a flagship
for Delta Beverages and is offering all braai lovers a platform to come together and set their own braaing record as well as enjoy their favourite lager while listening to good music on the day.

“The event will not be a success without the partnering of popular
braai spot outlets and our lager beer outlets, and we want to take
this opportunity to thank them for partnering with us,” Delta
Beverages said in a statement on Tuesday.

“These partners will be assisting with the braaing. There will, however, be braai stands available for own braaing,” read part of the statement.

Delta Beverages has been running the festival through their Castle
Lager brand since 2016, with the inaugural edition setting the record,
where over 12 000kg of meat were consumed in one day, with proceeds from the event channelled towards charity.

In previous editions, the organisers partnered with popular braai spot
outlets, who provided braaing facilities.

The organisers also provided braai stands to those who wanted to do it alone.

The second edition of the braai fest, held in 2017, saw a staggering
15 000kg of meat going through the braai stands.

Proceeds from the event were channelled towards charity, with Delta
management saying the fiesta was part of their corporate social
responsibility programme.
