Manica Diamonds opening fixtures: the games to define Masomere’s season

MUTARE – Premiership new boys Manica Diamonds will kick off their ambitious premier soccer league journey with an away match with former champions Caps United in Harare before hosting Harare City at Vengere stadium in Rusape then Triangle at Gibbo stadium in the Lowveld.

The 2019 premier league season kicks off on March 30.
The determined premier league debutants coach – Luke ‘Vahombe’ Masomere is hopeful that he has created a competitive outfit that can stand any competition.
Masomere who is also referred to as ‘The Excellency of Football’s said he was not looking much into the opposition teams but focus on his game plan.
He  said:

 “I am excited with these opening fixtures. There is
nothing difficult about those teams. Remember we are all in the   premiership and anything can happen.
“It is now up to us as a team to have a good start so that we can have the much needed confidence that is what we are aiming as a team,” he said.
“I have no doubt that these players will bring smiles on faces
of progressive football followers. We are not afraid of any team in the premiership
.” he added.
The team signed seasoned players that i include Tafadzwa Dube former Caps United, Harare City and Mutare City goalkeeper and striker Benjamin Marere.

Marere has had stints with Dynamos FC and How Mine FC .
The determined team has also snatched central midfielder Takunda Jephreys from relegated Mutare City Rovers FC.
Notable players that have put pen to paper with the Mutare based side also known as the Gem Boys are former FC Platinum and Young Warriors striker Marshal Mudehwe, former Dynamos and Caps United midfielder Wisdom Mutasa and former Dynamos and Warriors player Partson Jaure.
Former Dynamos midfielder Peace Makaha and Prichard Mpelele formerly Harare City left back.
