MINISTER Michael Mahendere on Thursday unveiled his new single entitled Ndovimba Nemi – a trailblazer for his forthcoming album ‘My Secret Place of Worship’ set to be launched in April.
Mahendere described Ndovimba Nemi as an anthem and a rally call.
“It is a declaration of an unwavering stance and an intentional choice to trust Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. These days where-ever we look, there is negative information that is designed to cause fear and despair,” Mahendere said.
“This unifying melody reminding the saints to trust in the Lord. Why call it an anthem? Some may ask. An anthem is defined as a rousing or uplifting song identified with a particular group, body, or cause. This is Ndovimba Nemi described in a nutshell.”
The song is set in the southern African music feel infused with rich guitar work and a balanced vocal melody supported by trumpets and saxophone.
A mid tempo song, Ndovimba Nemi is out now on a selected number of online stores, and is sure to get your feet tapping, Mahendere said.
“For those moments on the journey of life when you get stuck between a rock and a hard place, trust in the Lord your God. It is He who keeps you focused on the right path,” Mahendere said.
Mahendere’s music ministry spans two decades, having started as an active member of Mahendere Brothers, a Zimbabwean gospel outfit comprising of his siblings.
The songwriter and businessman who is conversant with a host of instruments that include drums, guitars, and the keyboard is synonymous for his hit tracks Makanaka Jesu, Tawanirwe Nyasha, Mweya Mutsvene and Salt of the Earth.
