- OK supermarkets in Kuwadzana management accused of liaising with police
- Teargas meant to disperse shoppers so police and OK supermarkets management share subsidised roller meal behind closed doors
ON Monday, chaos rocked the two Kuwadzana OK outlets as police on duty in the area fired teargas purportedly to deal with crowds which had begun gathering at the supermarkets to buy the cheaper subsidised roller meal that had been delivered, Zim Morning Post can report.
There are, however, disturbing reports that the police became trigger-happy in order to cover up for their nefarious and corrupt intentions, amid allegations they had liaised with management at the retail outlets to share some of the goverment subsidised mealie meal among themselves.
Sources close to this publication who preferred anonymity revealed that the police and OK Kuwadzana management stores had gone into an unholy alliance whose intention was to ultimately share the mealie meal without the public taking note, thus the deliberate firing of teargas in order to first disperse the customers.
“Upon delivery of the mealie- meal at the OK outlets, the police suddenly started firing teargas in efforts to cause commotion and disperse the crowds so they could buy the mealie meal all by themselves. They are in this together with management at both the OK supermarket outlets in Kuwadzana,” said the source.
While the country is fighting the COVID-19 virus, corrupt entities seem also to have found windows of opportunity to benefit from others’ misery.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country remains in lockdown as cash inflows begin to dry up following the long periods of commercial inactivity.
