BULAWAYO – Tuesday’s lightning strike in the Bulawayo neighborhood of Cowdray Park claimed the life of a police officer and left his partner with bruises.
In Police’s daily crime bulletin posted on Twitter, police confirmed the tragic incident.
“The ZRP reports a sad event in which Peter Gwaza (42) and his girlfriend Priority Dube (30) were struck by lightning on 03/01/23 while walking along a trail in Cowdray Park,” the law enforcement agency wrote.
“Peter Gwaza passed away instantly, while Priority Dube suffered burns to the stomach and bruising to the hands and face.”
