Dominic Mukandi set to join Byo City

Bulawayo- Former Caps United and Triangle players Dominic Mukandi and Pascal Manhanga have surfaced at premier league returnees Bulawayo City.

A visit by Zim Morning Post at Bulawayo City’s training session on Tuesday at St Columbus High school grounds, the two veterans were going through their passes under the watchful eye of Philani ‘Beefy’ Sibanda.  

Mukandi who has also played for Dynamos was part of Caps United’s 2020 squad and Manhanga who was with Triangle makes a return to Bulawayo after a stint with Highlanders.

Other players who were part of the training session are 2010 Soccer Star of the Year 2010 and joint Golden Boot Award winner in 2014 Charles Sibanda who was with FC Platinum in 2020, Welcome Ndiweni, Pride Zirendi, ex-Highlanders’ Benson Phiri, Zibusiso Sibanda and 18-year-old Mpumelelo Bhebhe.

Bulawayo City Coach, Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube said he is happy with his team and the progress that they are making ahead of the 2020 season.

“We are happy we the preparations, we are really shaping up and by the time the league starts, we will be ready like any other team. I am happy with the progress being made by everyone especially our new faces. If all goes well I will be happy to have Manhanga, Mukandi and Zirendi in the team, it’s now left with the administration to negotiate with them well,” said Beefy.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo City has appointed Warriors legend Ronald ‘Gidiza’ Sibanda as the new team manager, taking over from Eddie Chivero.
