HEALTH and Child Care minister Obadiah Moyo on Saturday afternoon announced Zimbabwe’s second confirmed coronavirus case but skirted the opportunity to confirm or deny Harare City Council’s claim of the cases now being three.
Moyo said one new case had been confirmed on Saturday morning adding onto the first reported case on Friday, taking the country’s tally to two.
A few hours earlier, Harare City Council Mayor Herbert Gomba had told the nation that two new cases had been confirmed in Harare on Saturday morning, bring the total to three.
However, giving the government’s position on the deadly virus, Moyo neither confirmed or denied HCC’s claim.
He, however, urged Zimbabweans to observe one official channel of communicating the COVID-19 confirmed cases to avoid misrepresentation and panic.
