Nyaradzo communicated to policyholders Monday that with effect from  charging ZWL 192.00 from the previously paid ZWL10 to 30ZWL .

“In order to preserve the value of your funeral policy benefits, with effect from 1 October 2019 (September 2019 deduction), your monthly premium will be adjusted to ZWL$192.00. Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company” read a message directed to policyholders.

Civil servants who spoke to this publication said the development will further erode their salaries as they are already struggling with affording basic goods.

“ We are already struggling with current price hikes from data bundles, medical services and to make matters worse, prices for basic goods are fluctuating on a daily basis and now its Nyaradzo . We have other commitments that needs money for crying out loud,” said a caller who refused to be identified.

“I will rather breakdown my wardrobe and make my own coffin rather than pay that much, “ she added.

Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance company last made an upward review in June when they increased by  a 100%.

Efforts to get a comment from the company’s chief executive Philip Mataranyika drew a blank as he did not pick his mobile phone at the time of writing.
