COUNCIL of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) has declared the the ban made on Philip Chiyangwa by the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) as null and void.
ZIFA board has since been pushing for this life ban on Chiyangwa but Fifa advised that the local mother body had not followed due process.
In a statement released by Cosafa last week, Fifa made it clear that the decision by the ZIFA board is unjust as proper channels were not followed.
“We can now advise our members that Fifa are of the opinion that the ban served by Dr Chiyangwa is a nullity as due process was not followed, “ read the statement.
Ironically, Cosafa is led by Chiyangwa.
