Chasi hits the Ground running

Advocate Fortune Chasi who was recently promoted to be the Minister of Energy and Power Development has started implementing drastic measures in the Ministry.

On Thursday Chasi demanded USD$5million which was advanced to Intratek a company owned by Wicknell Chivayo despite the courts clearing Chivayo of any wrong doing.

He said the Zesa management must do everything to ensure that the $5 million advanced to Intratrek Zimbabwe for the Gwanda Solar Project is recovered.

Minister Chasi said even if the courts have exonerated the company and its director Wicknell Chivayo, Government needs the money recovered at all cost.

Many people have described Chasi as a person who is in touch with reality as someone who was instrumental in re introduction of Public Transport.

“I think Chasi is a person who believes in reality just look at the role he played when he was the Deputy Minister ,he is always in touch with reality,” said Takunda Mandura.

Some Zimbabweans are of the view that Chivayo should repay the money or he should deliver as a matter of emergency.

“Advocate Chasi is right, Chivayo should repay our money or he should deliver as soon as possible,” Wrote Elina Chimombe on Facebook.

Chasi took over from under fire Jorum Gumbo who has since been deployed to work in the office of President Emmerson Mnangagwa
