Businessman rapes daughter

BUSINESSMAN Itai Wafawarova on Friday appeared before the Harare magistrate’s court facing charges of raping his 16-year-old daughter.
The 48-year-old Wafawarova is facing rape charges as defined in Section 65 of the Criminal law (Codification and Reform) Act.
Accused stays at the Grange with his first wife and daughter during school days.
The complainant would visit her biological mother, accused’s second wife, during weekends and holidays.
On dates unknown in 2017, accuses me would allegedly accompany complainant to her mother’s house around 6pm.
According to that charge sheet, Wafawarova would allegedly routinely buy his daughter some chips in town, park his motor vehicle at a service station along Samora Machel Street and sexually assault her.
Accused would then allegedly tell complainant that they were going to sleep in the car since it was dark.
He would then allegedly wake the complainant up during the night, touching her private parts and ejaculate on her thighs.
In November 2019, accused allegedly repeated the same act and gave the complainant pills to prevent pregnancy.
Wafawarova is alleged to have continued the unethical behaviour on several other occasions.
In the other count, on December 22 this year around 9pm, Wafawarova is said to have kissed the accuser.
He touched as well as force her to touch his manhood.
Accused again ejaculated on complainant’s thighs.
Complainant wiped Wafawarova’s semen with a tissue, put it in a kylite and threw it outside the window.
Complainant’s mother, Patience Musabayana became suspicious when she noticed her daughter’s change of behaviour.
Musabayana questioned her daughter until she told her the truth.
Complainant and her mother then allegedly visited the scene of the crime where they recovered the kylite and proceeded to make a formal report at Mabelreign Police Station.
This led to the arrest of Wafawarova.
Complainant was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examinations.
Wafawarova is the complainant’s biological father.
Magistrate Victoria Mashamba told accused to apply for bail at the High Court.
His next remand date is January 8, 2020.
In another case, 40-year old Vincent Takawira is also alleged to have raped his daughter, who is a minor.
Takawira allegedly told the complainant to clean his room.
He is then said to followed her, locked the door and had sexual intercourse with without consent.
The accused allegedly also continued to perpetrate the same act on the child.
The accused is set to appear before the court on January 9, 2020.
