The Mashonaland West Zanu PF provincial coordinating committee today requested the party’s Politburo to recall incarcerated former Tourism minister Priscah Mupfumira from both senate and the politburo, the Zim Morning Post has heard.
Insiders said yesterday (Saturday) the youth wing called for her expulsion from the party.
“The Mashonaland West youth league held its PCC on Saturday and recommended that Mupfumira be expelled from the party,” said the source.
“The party’s main wing then suggested that Mupfumira be recalled from being a senator as well as being a politburo member.”
“The PCC has sent its recommendation to the national excutive for its consideration.“
Mupfumira was arrested a couple of weeks ago and is being held at the remand prison following the denial of bail for 21 days as the State investigates a plethora of corruption cases levelled against her.
