Breaking: Bosso suspends vice chairman, secretary general

Report by Bayethe Mhlanga

Struggling former champions Highlanders have suspended club Vice Chairman Modern Ngwenya and Secretary General Israeli Moyo, Zim Morning Post can reveal.
The two were suspended for allegedly firing the Chief Executive Officer Nhlanhla Dube without the approval of the board.

“I can confirm that the two (Ngwenya and Moyo) were suspended this
afternoon (Tuesday), they face charges of firing the Chief
executive officer without the club board’s approval. Hlanhla Dube’s contract expired today (April 30) so the executive and the board had to make a decision whether to renew it or not but Ngwenya and Moyo went ahead and fired him (Dube) without the approval of the board,”
said a source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Dube joined the club on a two year contract, replacing veteran administrator Ndumiso Gumede.
Moyo (53) who is also a lecturer at the Catholic University is not new to controversy, late last year he was involved in a sexual abuse scandal involving female students.
Moyo was later suspended after a public demonstration by students at the university’s Bulawayo campus.

He was accused of asking for sexual favours in return for good marks.
Meanwhile, Highlanders who have struggled to register a win in their opening five matches of the Castle Lager premiere soccer league will face a tricky assignment against a determined Hwange FC on Sunday.
