‘America is not a World Policeman’: ANC Secretary General Mbalula Slams America Over Treatment of Zimbabwe

“America is not a world policeman,” Fikile Mbalula, the Secretary General of South Africa’s ruling party ANC surprising remarks during an interview at President Mnangagwa’s inauguration at the National Sports Stadium has sparked a heated debate on social media. Mbalula boldly stated that the United States of America has no right to lecture any African country about elections.

Highlighting America’s Own Election Disputes

Mbalula argued that the US had failed to resolve its own internal conflicts during its recent presidential election when Donald Trump was defeated by Joe Biden. He emphasized that America’s struggles were evident, referring to the highly publicized disputes and unrest that unfolded within the US Capitol.

“America cant lecture anyone about elections. They themselves could not settle their own disputes. Donald Trump at some point, if you remember not so long ago, there was a big fight and war there in the capital house in the United States of America,” stated Mbalula

Directing his attention to the US government, Mbalula demanded that they cease acting as a global police force and show respect for Zimbabwe’s sovereignty. He called for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe, emphasizing the importance of respecting the independence and autonomy of nations.

“America is not a world policeman. They must respect Zimbabwe’s independence and they must lift the sanctions against Zimbabwe. They must respect soverenity of states and that is what is important,” said Mbalula.

Mbalula’s Message of Peace and Prosperity for Zimbabwe

Closing his statements, Mbalula expressed the African National Congress’s (ANC) desire for Zimbabwe to thrive as a peaceful and prosperous nation. He extended well-wishes to Zimbabwe and emphasized the importance of fostering positive relations between the two countries.
