Garwe commissions new school facilities, backs Mnangagwa’s 2029 presidency

SEKE — Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe has commissioned new educational facilities at two primary schools in Seke, Marondera West, while declaring that there is “no vacancy in the presidency” ahead of 2029.

Garwe commissioned three classroom blocks at Gilstone Primary School and new classrooms, toilets and a computer laboratory at Dunottar Primary School.

At Dunottar, parents and community members contributed 60 percent of the project costs, while the local authority and government provided the remaining 40 percent.

The facilities are expected to improve learning conditions, with the computer laboratory giving pupils greater access to digital education.

Speaking during the commissioning events, Garwe also reaffirmed ZANU PF’s Chinhoyi Resolution supporting Mnangagwa’s continued leadership beyond 2028.

“There is no vacancy in the presidency. 2029 ZANU PF 1st Secretary is already endorsed as Cde ED Mnangagwa,” Garwe was quoted as saying in a ZANU PF statement.

The remarks come amid ZANU PF’s push to retain Mnangagwa beyond the end of his current presidential term in 2028.

The commissioning ceremonies were attended by government officials, councillors, traditional leaders and parents.
