HARARE – Zimbabwe’s soccer fans are optimistic about the Warriors’ chances in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which start with a match against Rwanda on Nov. 15.
Chris “Romario” Musekiwa, a super fan of the Warriors, said the team has talented and experienced players who compete in top leagues around the world.
“We are convinced the Warriors will deliver results in Rwanda. Let’s go there with a winning mentality,” he said.
The Warriors will play Rwanda and Nigeria on Nov. 15 and 19, respectively, at Huye Stadium in Butare, Rwanda. They are in Group C with South Africa, Benin and Lesotho.
Warriors head coach Baltemar Brito urged the nation to support the team in their quest for the World Cup finals.
“Let’s unite and rally behind the national team. We are here to try to do our best. Everyone is here to do their best, so we expect the nation to give the best of support. We will try to create a good moment for them (fans),” he said.
